From Crystal City:

How to Get to the MCM Expo at Gaylord National Resort (National Harbor)?

To reach the Marine Corps Marathon Health & Fitness Expo at the Gaylord National Resort, take the Yellow Line Metro to Eisenhower Avenue Station. From there, hop on the free shuttle to National Harbor. Shuttles operate Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Alternatively, you can ride the Metrobus NH1 or NH2 routes, which run between King Street Metro Station in Alexandria, VA, and St. George Boulevard at Waterfront Street in National Harbor, MD.

Where is the Start line?

The Marine Corps Marathon start line is located on Route 110 (all lanes) halfway between the Pentagon and Arlington Memorial Drive. Participants are advised to arrive as early as 6.00 am to get ample time to drop off their luggage, pass via security check-points, and to line up in their respective corral.

MCM will provide clear plastics bags to runners before the race kicks off. The bags will have UPS stickers for each participant for them to easily identify their belongings at the end of the race.

At 7.55 am the howitzer will fire officially starting the 48th MCM marathon. The participants are encouraged to maintain a pace of 14 minutes per mile. This pace will enable them to reach DC Gauntlet by 12.33 pm, 14th and D Street by 1.15 pm those who will not get there on time will be diverted from the race by shuttle buses.

How to Get to Start Line?

The Marine Corps Marathon starts near Runners Village, located in the Pentagon’s North Parking Lot.

Metro service begins at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 27, with the exception of Arlington Cemetery Station, which opens at 8:30 a.m. The Pentagon Metro Station (served by the Blue and Yellow lines) is the closest stop to Runners Village.

To avoid potential congestion at the Pentagon Station, runners may opt to exit at Crystal City or Pentagon City—both on the Blue and Yellow lines—and walk to the free MCM shuttle pickup at 23rd Street and Crystal Drive. Shuttles will run from 4:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m., transporting runners directly to Runners Village.

MCM will provide some of the necessary amenities for the marathon to runners. Some of the items going to be provided include:

Where does the MCM Marathon finish?

The marathon will come to an end at the Marine Corps War Memorial. There will be pace teams to assist runners through the marathon. They will aim to help runners finish the marathon within a finish time of between 3.10 and 5.20.

A Chrono tracking system will be used to determine each runner’s finish time together with split times for every 5k along with the marathon. The system makes use of the UHF RFID tag embedded on the runner’s bib mounted on its reverse side. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers using gun time.
