Emirates Football Stadium – Arsenal FC – London

The Football Stadium is located on Ashburton Grove in Holloway, north London. It’s the home ground of Arsenal Football Club since it was officially opened on 26 October 2006 by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

The Emirates Stadium replaced Arsenal’s previous home Highbury. The first match was a testimonial match for Dennis Bergkamp featuring an Arsenal and Ajax Amsterdam.

The stadium has an all-seated capacity of 60,355, making it the second largest stadium in the Premier League after Old Trafford of Manchester United, and the third-largest stadium of any kind in London, after London Wembley and Twickenham. It was known as Ashburton Grove before a naming rights deal with the airline Emirates was struck in October 2004.

The Emirates Stadium also operates as a conference centre and music venue.

It’s one of the most popular teams in London UK (see different neighbourhoods). There is a good choice of great value hotels, apartments and cosy b&b’s (guest houses) within close distance of the ground. Accommodation located close to tube stations, from where you can easily reach the home of Arsenal Football Club.
