Visitors can also take the opportunity for a luxurious Seine cruise (perhaps with accompanying wine, cheese and other local delicacies). Places to visit further afield from the city centre include the glorious palace of Versailles.

1. Pay a visit to the Eiffel Tower

You can’t visit Paris without going to see the Eiffel tower at least once. This magical piece of French architecture is the backdrop of many photographs and you should make sure you get your own. Nothing says Paris more than the Eiffel tower.
